Growing up I always loved things that challenged my mind, whether that be brain teasers and puzzles, competitive games, trivia, or sports. In college I also landed on an interest in the Japanese language, which brought me to Japan and a rewarding career in teaching English.

Living in a foreign country allows me every day to expand my mind, learn new things, and connect with people who have completely different backgrounds from my own. After nearly a decade, I came to realize there was still something missing, and that I had an aptitude for a field like programming which was going regrettably unused.

So I enrolled in the software engineering school App Academy, which confirmed for myself that I did have a passion for it and that I was good at it. Now I want to build my career in this field and I'm excited to see what I can bring to the table.
